New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Ms. Amye Thompson Hollins currently works for the Dallas County District Clerk’s Office as a Human Resources Generalist. Previously she worked as the Leave Specialist for Southwest Airlines union, TWU Local 555. She has served in the capacity of Human resources professional and Labor Advocate since 2005. Amye is the mother of one daughter, Ava Hollins (6), who attends Sam Houston, a Personalized Learning Preparatory School in DISD.
A lifetime resident of the South Oak Cliff area, Amye received her education in DISD. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University. She later received a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources from the University of Dallas.
Amye is a product of inner-city community service programs at the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Dallas and every Vacation Bible School program her mother could get her in! She is now committed to giving back some of what she received through her service in various community organizations.
A practicing Christian, she begins her service through active church involvement at Central Pointe’ Church of Christ. She has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated since 1995 and is currently the President of the Metropolitan Dallas Alumnae Chapter in South Dallas. Under her leadership the chapter has received several Regional and National accolades. The chapter has awarded $30K in scholarships for Dallas Area seniors over the past 3 years and she received an individual community service award in 2018. Amye served as Worthy Matron of the Dorcus #19 chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star from 2010-2013. Under her leadership and guidance, that organization led the state of Texas in scholarship fundraising and community service for 3 consecutive years.
Amye received formal Board Training through The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas- Blueprint for Leadership Program in 2005. She has served on United Way Grant Assessment Committee as well the Board of United Cerebral Palsy of Metropolitan Dallas. Amye served as the Female Parent Trustee on the Board of the St. Philips School and Community Center until January 2019. Amye has served on the T. Boone Pickens Board of Management since 2015 and has served as the YMCA Campaign Chair in 2017, 2018 and 2019!

Human Resources Generalist

Perform professional level human resource functions for a large, multi-location department of about 250 employees, including but
not limited to the administration, implementation, maintenance
and interpretation of programs, policies, and procedures related to recruiting and employment, compensation and benefits, workers compensation, safety, employee relations, staff development,
payroll and time and attendance.

Act as a liaison between Dallas County Central HR and the department by gathering, coordinating, and disseminating information and establishing effective relationships with
department staff and DC Central HR.

Work under general supervision of the Office of the Elected District Clerk

Assists managers and supervisors with performance management, including review of disciplinary actions resulting from employee termination or record of counseling, conducting exit interviews, and coordinating these actions with Dallas Central HR to ensure proper application of policies and procedures.

Research and evaluate training needs for the department and communicate, coordinate, and schedule training needs of the department with management, Central HR; up to and including conducting training when necessary.
